Convention & Exhibition Business: Market Trends
The 11th edition of HKTDC Entrepreneur Day featured over 280 exhibitors and attracted 18,600 visitors. The annual event has been a platform for the start-up community to get inspired, seek funding, source talents and build connections. Under the theme of “The Start-up Living Lab”, the Entrepreneur Day 2019 encouraged exhibitors to showcase their innovative solutions for challenges in four different areas of everyday life − clothing, food, housing and transportation. A series of seminars featured successful business leaders and entrepreneurs to share their insights on entrepreneurship. Business opportunities for start-ups in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area were also spotlighted in the event.
The 30th HKTDC Food Expo featured more than 1,570 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions. Food Expo’s Trade Hall featured more than 900 exhibitors and included 23 group pavilions, with Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and Xinjiang joining the expo for the first time. The Food Expo, along with the concurrent Tea Fair, Beauty & Wellness Expo, Home Delights Expo and the International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products, welcomed a total of nearly 450,000 visitors.
The 17th edition of the HKTDC Hong Kong International Licensing Show and the 8th Asian Licensing Conference, an ideal solution for worldwide business to increase their licensing portfolio, welcomed more than 400 exhibitors, 1,000 brands and licensed items. It also attracted a record of 22,000 visitors from about 100 countries and regions. While the Asian market has proven to be the mainstay of business growth, the show featured 7 Asian government-led country pavilions to promote regional collaboration. In addition to over 600 business matching meetings, there were numerous on-site brand promotion opportunities including overseas buying missions, performances and product showcases.
