Convention & Exhibition Business: Market Trends
Under the theme 'Tomorrow Lab', Asia’s premier fashion event CENTRESTAGE featured three thematic zones – Allure, Iconic and Metro. It attracted 230 international fashion brands from 22 countries and regions, marking the largest number of exhibitors ever. Hong Kong fashion labels were highlighted in the four-day event. More than 20 runway shows gave local and overseas designers the chance to showcase their latest collections. Fashion trends and industry insights were explored in the seminars, providing a platform for engaging fashion professionals and underlining Hong Kong's position as a fashion hub for Asia.
Hong Kong International Medical Devices and Supplies Fair welcomed a record 280 exhibitors from 13 countries and regions. Meeting market trends, the fair featured World of Health & Wellness with healthcare supplements and skincare products. Startup zone demonstrated innovative medical products and services from 12 start-ups, and offered matching opportunities for buyers and exhibitors. Hospital Equipment zone was another attraction, showcasing specialist equipment and technology, including ultrasound and imaging tools, and a range of surgical instruments. More zones getting attention included Building Technology and Hospital Furniture zone, Medical Supplies and Disposal zone, and Rehabilitation and Elderly Care zone.
FILMART 2018 was Asia’s largest film and television market platform for business, with 850 exhibitors and more than 8,400 visitors from 76 countries and regions. Among them 361 exhibitors came from 15 Belt and Road countries. FILMART featured 12 international names with 36 major pavilions from 18 countries and regions. Belt and Road cultural connectivity has also been a key element in technology advances in film and TV, particularly for virtual reality and augmented reality opportunities.
