Convention & Exhibition Business: Market Trends
The Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) 2019, the world’s largest electronics marketplace, attracted more than 4,300 exhibitors from 24 countries and regions as well as over 50,000 buyers. The fair featured 9 group pavilions, including new pavilions from Guangdong and Nanjing in Mainland China and India. A new zone was set up in Tech Hall to showcase AI and voice recognition technologies. More than 580 red hot electronic brands were displayed in Hall of Fame. Experts shared the latest 5G developments at the Symposium on Innovation & Technology.
The 11th edition of HKTDC Entrepreneur Day featured over 280 exhibitors and attracted 18,600 visitors. The annual event has been a platform for the start-up community to get inspired, seek funding, source talents and build connections. Under the theme of “The Start-up Living Lab”, the Entrepreneur Day 2019 encouraged exhibitors to showcase their innovative solutions for challenges in four different areas of everyday life − clothing, food, housing and transportation. A series of seminars featured successful business leaders and entrepreneurs to share their insights on entrepreneurship. Business opportunities for start-ups in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area were also spotlighted in the event.
The 30th HKTDC Food Expo featured more than 1,570 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions. Food Expo’s Trade Hall featured more than 900 exhibitors and included 23 group pavilions, with Vietnam, Saudi Arabia and Xinjiang joining the expo for the first time. The Food Expo, along with the concurrent Tea Fair, Beauty & Wellness Expo, Home Delights Expo and the International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine & Health Products, welcomed a total of nearly 450,000 visitors.
