NOTHING quite beats the luxurious feel of quality natural paper packaging, which is not only remarkably inexpensive but can also be beautifully emblazoned with corporate logos, advertising slogans and eye-catching images.
With leading local and international luxury product retailers demanding the type of packaging that reflects and enhances the upmarket images of their diverse brands, they often turn to Wang Lee Offset Printing Ltd.
"We produce high-quality paper products at low prices with fast delivery for the Hong Kong and Chinese mainland markets. We also manufacture cloth and PVC covered jewellery boxes," says merchandiser Rocena Lee.
"Paper bags are our main line, accounting for about 60% of the total business. These come with a range of handle options, including popular plastic, and string, cotton, paper twist and straight paper handles. Paper boxes, for items such as shirts, ties, scarves, belts and shoes, make up 20% of our business, while jewellery boxes comprise another 20%," Lee adds.
The company's emphasis on quality is borne out by its high profile clients such as Bally, Polo, Gianni Versace, Dickson watches and jewellery, Chow Sang Sang, and Front First, all of which have been using Wang Lee's paper packaging for "at least five years".
Established in 1980, the company now has a 100,000-square-metre factory in Shenzhen on the southern Chinese mainland and employs about 250 workers. In 1993, the company established an additional 6,000-square-metre plant in Shanghai, where 120 workers produce paper shopping bags, boxes and leaflets.
The company buys its paper from Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland, Indonesia and South Korea, and produces about three million paper bags, one million paper boxes and an equal number of jewellery boxes per year.
This range of packaging items is produced at its Shenzhen facility using the popular and versatile Man Roland R705 3B high capacity offset printing press and the Heidelberg Speedmaster 102FP 5C offset press. Last year, Wang Lee introduced the new model Heidelberg Speedmaster four-colour offset printing press CD 102-4 to its Shanghai factory, helping stay abreast of the latest trends.
"Currently, metallic gray and gold are extremely popular colours for paper bags," Lee says, adding: "Our competitive advantages are our quality production, speedy delivery and competitive pricing."
FOB prices are available on request and depend on product and quantity, but Lee notes that minimum orders are extremely reasonable. "Our minimum order is 1,000 pieces for bags and boxes and 500 units for jewellery boxes, which we can deliver in either Hong Kong or the Chinese mainland in two weeks," she says.
A commitment to top quality at low prices has helped Wang Lee develop and expand during the past few years, and the company is riding the crest of a business wave. "Our business continues to grow and we are looking at other potential markets including the US and Germany," Lee says.
Wang Lee is determined to reap the benefits of its hard work by expanding and developing to meet the increasing demands of the marketplace.
"In future we will further enhance our production capabilities and product quality by continuing to invest in the latest machines. This will ensure that we can continue to meet all our clients' needs quickly and efficiently at the best possible price," Lee promises.
