Whether looking for style, quality or eco-friendliness, buyers are likely to bag the best deals in Hong Kong
Non-woven bags from Hong Kong provide quality alternatives to traditional packing solutions - with the added bonus that they are very often environmentally friendly and recyclable.
Such products, in fact, are a speciality of Hang Tat Plastic Bags Mfr, which has almost 30 years' experience in the production of various types of bags.
"We have spent a lot of time and effort in developing our non-woven bag manufacturing capabilities," says Marketing Assistant Fanny Lo. "For example, our non-woven bags, fitted with zippers or snap buttons, can be folded into a small, convenient package ready for use whenever they are required."
Claiming that most of the company's non-woven bags are durable and washable, she stresses that Hang Tat's recyclable bags are free of phthalates and nickel, and meet European environmental requirements. She also notes growing demand for non-woven bags with a laminated finish.
"We can produce bags that look distinctively different from other products on the market," says Ms Lo. "The prints are attractive and the finishing is durable." Designs are usually based on artwork from customers, with whom Hang Tat's design team works.
"We offer flexibility and cooperation, and we can produce simple bags as well as more upscale bags sewn with different kinds of materials and finishing," Ms Lo remarks.
The range features such closures as snap buttons, zippers or hook-and-loop tape. "Almost any handle choice can be added to match or complement the customer name or logo and the design concept," she maintains.
The firm offers colour options based on Pantone and different thicknesses, in addition to a choice of 10-colour silk-screen or gravure printing to satisfy different customer needs. "Reliability, responsiveness and efficiency add to our core strengths," Ms Lo claims.
Another enterprise experiencing increasing demand for non-woven bag products is A and G (HK) Ltd. "Our clients are interested in our non-woven bags to use instead of traditional paper and plastic products," says Manager Amy Chan.
She notes that her company manufactures a full range of promotion items including shopping, cosmetics, and cooler and travel bags.
"Our foldable, non-woven fashion-picture shopping bags are very popular," says Ms Chan, explaining that they carry pictures of stylised models and images related to fashion.
Adding that the firm's made-to-order tote bags are also buyers' favourites, she says that to ensure quality control, A and G operates its own silk-screen printing facility. "In this way, we can control the print quality and production time. It also allows us to print shapes and colours that our customers are looking for."
Designs for A and G's non-woven products mainly come from clients, although the company employs an in-house designer to work with them when needed. "We can produce colourful non-woven bags to suit any promotion activity. We are also very competitive in service, delivery and price," states Ms Chan.
Another veteran manufacturer is Supreme Development Co Ltd, which draws on more than 30 years' experience in the packaging manufacturing industry to produce non-woven products using a broad range of techniques.
"We laminate non-woven materials with OPP film so that we can create colourful images with gravure printing," says Director and General Sales Manager Eric Lau.
He adds that the company concentrates on quality and innovation. "For instance," he points out, "our non-woven bags come in orange, red, white and pink, and are available with thick, thin and hard handles. We also use ribbon or fabric strips to give the handles a unique appearance."
The firm also develops patterns that add eye-catching visual aspects to non-woven products. "We have lots of ideas that we share with our clients to help them develop their own style and brand using non-woven bags," Mr Lau says.
Production is carried out on an OEM basis. "We work with our clients to emphasise that tailor-made, non-woven packaging can add value to their products and benefit their bottom line," he says.
Assistant Sales Manager (Overseas) Joe Yiu claims that Supreme Development is a socially responsible enterprise committed to making its products as recyclable and environmentally friendly as possible.
"We have made a commitment to actively promote the use of degradable bags and to communicate as widely as possible the concept of green packaging," informs Mr Yiu, adding that the company utilises US and UK technology to develop degradable plastic bags.
With a close eye on quality and innovation, Hong Kong manufacturers are well versed to produce non-woven bags for any purpose to ensure buyers have bagfuls of choices.
