The award-winning application innovatively creates an amazing user experience that matches the brand as a luxury product.

Technology was hardly an approach in promoting luxury brand names in the past. However, as technologies advance rapidly in recent years, prominent cognac house Hennessy breaks the tradition by collaborating with Cherrypicks Ltd to engage customers in an innovative wining experience via Augmented Reality (AR) vision. Not only does it create a new hype for wine drinking, the application also helps strengthen the brand image of Hennessy.

Jason Chiu, CEO of Cherrypicks Ltd says the location-based AR Vision application, being compatible with iPhone and Android handsets, delivers a brand new wine-drinking experience. It has been awarded the Best Ubiquitous Networking Grand Award.

The application was initially designed to promote “Hennessy Mix”, which virtually shows the mixibility of Hennessy V.S.O.P. with juices to attract younger customers.

“Users can simply launch the Hennessy Mix application and point the iPhone or Android phone to a special coaster or bottle label to view AR vision 3D mix drinks. The application also collects stamps automatically. If customers are at the designated bar location, they will be awarded with stamps, which can be uploaded to ‘My Hennessy’ according to specific instructions to redeem great prizes. Other exciting features include AR photo frames for customers to capture, decorate and Facebook-share their precious moments,” says Chiu.

Chiu believes this award has turned a new page for luxury brand promotion. Mobile phone Internet access, paired with AR vision technology, puts a spin on wine drinking and strengthens customer brand loyalty.
