Biometric Identification

Biometrics is a technology to identify users by their biological features (e.g., fingerprint, face, palm, iris and retina) or behavioral characteristics (e.g., handwriting, voice and gesture).

In the early days, this technology was confined to homeland security applications, such as border control, criminal identification, and access control. However, in recent years, with the prevalence of refugee problems in Europe and the emergence of fake voting in some emerging markets, local governments have started to think about identification and management of national/voter identity through biometrics.
